Anthony Davis returns to Pelicans' lineup after 1-game absence

New Orleans is 3-4 this season without Davis in the lineup.

In his return from a one-game absence due to a sprained left ankle, New Orleans Pelicans All-Star forward Anthony Davis recorded his first triple-double in the National Basketball Association in a 116-99 loss to the Utah Jazz. In his absence, the Pelicans' franchise-record 10-game winning streak ended with a lopsided loss to Washington on Friday.

The Pelicans started to build on its lead in the third quarter and went up by nine points midway through the period, but Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell caught fire to put his team up once again. He also went 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

New Orleans cut the deficit to seven midway through the quarter, but Utah rebuilt it to 13 on Mitchell's basket with 3:38 left.

Rubio has steadily improved in scoring in each game, taking a goose egg in the first one while missing seven shots and then scoring 11 points in the second game January 3.
