Ayton, who was named the tournament's most outstanding player, tallied 32 points and collected 18 rebounds, a day after a 32-point, 14-rebound performance in an overtime win over UCLA in the semifinals.

UA has one more before the Big Dance as it will look to seal up the Pac-12 Tournament title in addition to its regular season title and head into the rest of the month with some momentum.

The Buffs shot just 38.5 percent from the field (22-for-52) while the Wildcats shot 44 percent (25-for-57).

Arizona will find out its NCAA Tournament seed on Sunday and after this weekend, the Wildcats are in good position to earn a favorable seed, probably in the West region.

In UCLA's win over Arizona during the season, the narrative was the same.

UCLA at this point should really not be in much of a panic mode now. "We can't keep this on our mind and beat ourselves up over this game". "He kind of lit a fire under us". Welsh already had 11 rebounds by halftime, almost outrebounding the Wildcats.

Holiday and Thomas Welsh carried UCLA in the second half, helping them stretch the lead to 71-63 with seven minutes left. "We understand we will have a tough challenge". The only problem is that the attractive back-and-forth that Pac-12 basketball fans were treated for 40 minutes came to a halt in overtime as Arizona's Deandre Ayton scored the first five points of Arizona's 11 in OT. The Bruins "tried" to play zone to limit him, but that didn't work.

"They're an elite-level shooting team with arguably the best point guard in the country, and he played like that today", Haase said. Over their last five games, the Wildcat's defense has given up only 63.2 points per game after allowing an average of 72.55 points per game all season.

Epperson, Ballock and Marcus Foster each scored seven points by the intermission, and CU dished 10 assists on 12 baskets. Prior to the final 3-pointer of that run he defended the massive Spellman in the paint and boxed him out on the rebound.

"(Jackson-Cartwright) did a great job defending Aaron Holiday (who) did not have a great game and the reason for that was Parker.

Colorado was 36 of 42 (.857) from the free throw line in its two Pac-12 Tournament games.

Holiday has averaged 24.8 points and 7.2 assists over the last five games for UCLA. Our defense was intact, even though there were times maybe when we had the ball, we didn't execute as well. "We made a fair share of mistakes, but I love the way we played offensively".

He faced some controversy late in the season when an ESPN report claimed Arizona coach Sean Miller had been caught on an Federal Bureau of Investigation wiretap offering $100,000 to make sure Ayton signed with the Wildcats.

Miller called a timeout with 4.7 seconds left to set up the last play. The Bruins fought hard and battle their way back to tie the game at 67 and force overtime, thanks to a layup by Jaylen Hands.

It was Ayton's time to gain Magic Johnson's approval. Two NBA lottery wings - Allonzo Trier and Rawle Alkins - that can take over a game and make key shots, if asked. "It's right that he won the Pac-12 player of the year".

That was the tipping point of the game and Arizona ran away with the title. The total is six players (Gary Payton twice). Cartwright had 11 points and four assists.
