Conners leads, Woods lurks at Valspar

Corey Conners might be a PGA Tour rookie, but he sure didn't look like it on Saturday at the Valspar Championship.

For the day, Woods made five birdies and a bogey while playing with Snedeker.

Conners, who's held the lead after each of the first three days, made the field as an alternate and is now 18 holes from his first PGA Tour victory.

"I'm able to play more "feel" golf than I am just trying to figure out how to play golf again".

“I can confirm hes back.

"We were semi-joking back at the house that I hit so many good chips that haven't gone in yet, " Woods said.

He bounced back from a bogey at the par-3 13th with a cool birdie at 14, before parring in.

Woods is tied in second place at eight-under with England's Justin Rose (66) and American Brandt Snedeker (67) and with Woods to be again paired with Snedeker over the final day as he was in today's third round. He watched Woods shoot 67 in the group ahead.

So he at least knows what to expect.

It could be a different story when Woods dons the red and black on Sunday, but so far Conners has handled himself impressively.

Waymo to start rolling out self-driving truck fleet in Atlanta
While Waymo is starting a new pilot program for self-driving truck technology, it's definitely isn't the only company doing so. The company has also been working on a fleet of autonomous semi trucks and they're finally ready to be put to the test.

PALM HARBOR, Fla. - The idea of an 80th PGA Tour victory for Tiger Woods seemed all but forgotten just a few months ago.

Conners still settled himself with a wedge he almost holed on No. 9 for a birdie of his own. He now has played with Woods four times this year (Farmers Insurance and Honda Classic twice).

At this point, the gallery was so delirious they couldnt sync up their chants.

Woods missed them both to slow his momentum.

Birdies at the par-4 third and 614-yard, par-5 fifth - where he hit a driver off the tee and a 3-wood for his second shot over the green - kept Woods close. He laid open a lob wedge and swung hard on a tough flop shot, only to come up short and into the bunker. Then after a superb approach from the rough to 20 feet at the par-4 third, Woods drained the birdie putt to get his round rolling. It was like that all day.

"I started smiling, " Snedeker said. “I said to my caddie, ‘Have you ever seen those crowds? The crowd swelled to eight deep, and it was vocal. Hes on the leaderboard and challenging for the lead.

The moment Tiger Woods got his name back at the top of the leaderboard.

Woods hasn't won a tournament since 2013, when he won five times. He hasnt won a tournament when trailing going into the final round since the AT&T National at Congressional in 2012.

Rose said his eagle "ignited things" for him. Conners is at -9 and has a one shot lead over three golfers. "So nice and just been into it and into this event and I played myself right there in contention so it will be a fun Sunday".
