Angry Birds Space not coming to Windows Phone? We are not Impressed! [Update]

Remember when we told you that Angry Birds Space was not coming to Windows Phone on its launch date? Well, it appears that Windows Phone owners will not be fighting pigs in space for a long while, according to Bloomberg.
"We're the No. 1 app in the Windows Phone app store, but it's a big undertaking to support it, and you have to completely rewrite the application," gloated Peter Vesterbacka, chief marketing officer of Rovio Entertainment Oy. Its a shame that Mr Vesterbacka chose to ignore the fact that they are asking for a king's ransom from Windows Phone Users, charging $3.00 for a game that they offer for free on the Android platform. Huge undertaking it maybe, but one would think they would return a favour by supporting the Windows Phone platform given that users bought their game in droves.
"For the time being, it's too expensive for Rovio to adapt new games to Windows Phones. If you look at activations, Apple's iOS and Android are clearly bigger than any other platform. We want to be on all screens, but we have to consider the cost of supplying the smaller platforms. With Windows Phone it's a lot of work to technically support it," Vesterbacka said.
Having fleeced Windows Phone users, you would think Rovio would have the decency to farm back some of the loot they robbed from us. The current Angry Birds game on Windows Phone is still stuck on v1.0 (without a Mango update), which is a disgrace taking into account how much Windows Phone users are being asked to pay.
We hope when they decide that Windows Phone is worth their time after all, the world of mobile gaming wouldn't have moved on. In any case, Angry Birds is a one-trick-pony of a game and this overrated Space version is the same game on a different background. Call it a case of sour grapes but this WPSuperfanboy is not impressed!
Update:It now turns out that Angry Birds Space is coming to Windows Phone afterall. Rovio's CEO, Mikael Hed told Reuters that they are working towards getting Angry Birds Space to WP7. Well, so much for much for my rant (above). Anyway, this non-news is making me lose the will to live!
