Windows Phone 7.8 features leaked via internal Nokia document

Another case of... we told you so! Remember when we suggested that people should be grateful that Microsoft was offering the Windows Phone 7.8 update to current devices? At the time, most people were convinced that the only feature Windows Phone 7.8 was bringing was the Windows Phone 8 start screen. We always maintained that WP7.8 will be coming with more that just the start screen.

SmartphoneFrance managed to get their hands on an internal Nokia document (pictured right) which list the Windows Phone 8 features that will be coming to Windows Phone 7.8. Unfortunately, most of the features listed as coming to Window Phone 7.8 are either applications or features that are already in Windows Phone Tango. Features not coming to Windows Phone 7.8 include:

  • Over-the-air updates

  • Support for screen resolutions higher than WVGA

  • Internet Explorer 10

  • Multi-core processor support

  • Wallet Hub

  • NFC

  • Real multitasking

  • MicroSD card support

  • Device Management

  • Company Hub

  • Secure Boot and Encryption

  • IE 10
As you probably noticed, it appears Microsoft are yet to decide as to whether the new lock screen will be brought to Windows Phone 7.8. Also, its disappointing that non-hardware reliant features such as IE 10 wont be in the Windows Phone 7.8 update.

What do you think? Were you hoping for more? Let us know below.
