A couple of days ago we reported about a Chinese company TCL Communication Technologies which produces cheap smartphones under the Alcatel Mobile brand intending to release a budget device running Windows Phone 7.8 in Russia.
It now appears the device will be known as Alcatel One Touch View and will not only be released in Russia, but also in China since TCL is based there. The device will be called the TCL Horizon S606 in China. The entry-level device features a 4 inch WVGA display, 1GHz single-core processor, 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory.
Reports suggest that it will be released in Russia before the holidays with a budget price of 7990 roubles (approx. 256USD/159GBP). As seen on the renders above, the device is expected to come in two colors - Sapphire Blue and Dutch Orange.
Any takers? Anyone? No...
