The Next at Microsoft blog had an interview with Microsoft's Chairman, Bill Gates, talking about the Redmond giant's upcoming Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Surface.
He revealed that the vision for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 is for both platforms to eventually evolve into one, with a particular focus on making it easy for the user to move back and forth between devices with cloud services being central to the idea. "People will be pretty amazed about the energy Microsoft's putting behind this new wave of products, we've really saved up in terms of knowing that this was such an important set of innovations, that whether it's great new applications or ISV engagements, or just plain marketing, this is the big time for us"
He described Windows 8 as the future of personal computing and says its a crucial release for Microsoft. He also speaks about natural user interface and how Windows 8 integrates touch with existing interface capabilities, such as mouse and keyboard.
Microsoft launches the new operating systems in the next few days.
