With the Windows Phone 8 launch drawing ever closer, rumours on supposed devices are going into overdrive. WPCentral received a tip suggesting that Verizon have brought their Windows Phone 8 device launch forward to the 8th of November, rather than the previously rumoured 12th of November.
The tipster confirmed that the Lumia 822 will be $99 on contract while the HTC Windows Phone 8X will go for $199. What's more interesting is the mention of an unknown Windows Phone 8 Samsung device that will be free on the carrier. The device is not the Samsung ATIV S but rather some other phone we have not yet seen
If you follow WPSF then you will know that a couple of weeks ago we asked what happened to the previously rumoured mid-range Samsung "Marco." Samsung were supposed to be bringing two devices; the flagship "Odyssey" and the mid-range "Marco." The Odyssey turned out to be the Samsung ATIV S, while the Marco vanished. We know this device exists/existed because it was confirmed in court documents submitted by Samsung in their patent case against Apple. The device was rumoured to feature a 4-inch S-AMOLED display with WVGA resolution, 5MP main camera, 2MP front-facing camera, Qualcomm's MSM8960 1.5GHz dual-core processor and LTE. Could the "Marco" be the mystery Windows Phone 8 Samsung device coming to Verizon? We will find out on Monday...
