While those nearing the end of their contracts and those with extended pockets are busy contemplating on which Windows Phone 8 device to pick up, many current Windows Phone 7.x who cannot upgrade for one reason or the other have been eagerly awaiting news on the promised Windows Phone 7.8 update.

We all expected some news on the Windows Phone 7.8 front but nothing was offered by Microsoft. WPSuperfanboy has also had various inquiries from Windows Phone users about the update.

While we don't believe that the update will be rolled out any-time soon, Nokia's official Google Plus account replied to a fan stating that he should hang in there (pictured above). Our take on the Windows Phone 7.8 update is that Nokia is probably the only OEM bothered about the update. It wouldn't come as a surprise if only Lumia devices receive the update while others are made to wait an eternity. So, hang in there guys...
